Ernst Studios is an independent Athens-based fashion studio, founded by designer Catherine Pavli.

The foundation of the studio began in 2019, during the development of Catherine’s graduation collection, where she explored screen printing through the lens of menswear. Her work drew influence from painters such as Max Ernst, Francis Bacon and Rembrandt—approaching fashion with a painter’s gaze.

Through abstract and graphic prints applied to dark, heavy fabrics and minimal, imposing silhouettes, she began exploring contrast: light and darkness, simplicity and intensity. An ongoing internal tension translated into garments.

This idea became the core of Ernst Studios.

Founded in 2022, the studio continues to explore the balance between darker expression and everyday wear—creating pieces that remain functional while carrying a distinct presence.

The idea begins from resistance.

Each collection is developed and produced in limited batches. From fabric selection to final construction, every piece is made with attention to every detail, in our Athens-based studio, alongside selected artisans.

We focus on quality and longevity—creating garments designed to be worn, kept, and lived in over time.
